Weed control

1. Overgrowth of Weeds Depends on Many Factors:

  1. Direct influence is impossible
  2. Type of soil
  3. Appearance of new types of weeds in the region
  4. Climate, whether conditions
  5. Weed invasion of the field (about 5000 seeds/m2 )
  6. Influence is possible
  7. Term of sowing
  8. Soil processing – without soil ploughing / with soil ploughing
  9. Type of fighting weeds – with herbicides/manually
  10. Using manure - nitrogen / dung

The fields that are moderately and highly invaded with weeds show the presence of 300.000.000-500.000.000 weed seeds per ha in a soil layer of 0-30 cm. Weed invasion can be reduced below 10.000.000 seeds/ha by means of a range of agro-technical measures. This quantity of seeds corresponds to about 80-4000 weed plants /m2, after a 50% growth in the top soil layer of 5 cm. The chemical solution cannot solve this problem alone, because only 95% of weeds are destroyed during each spraying. 5 % of growing weeds survive, after that up to 210 weed plants / m2 remain.

2. Only the Combination of Mechanical-Chemical Measures Ensures Weeds-free Fields

Processing of the Soil for Sugar Beet after Being Previously Sown with Grains Work Process Effect

  1. Stubble turning Better growth of crops and destruction of weeds
  2. Ploughing the land until the end of August Soil breaking up, preserving humidity – destruction of weeds
  3. Land leveling in autumn Growth of crops and weed seeds
  4. Repeated leveling Destruction of weeds

Stubble turning using Smaragd cultivator with arrow-like wings and disc harrows BDT-7 12-14 cm, immediately after harvesting the grains

Qualitative land ploughing (30- 35 cm)

Remember: Weeds must be fought on all crops of the cropping system. The fight against root-damaging weeds must be carried out by means of special herbicides (2.4-D) on fields with autumn wheat during its growth. Leveling is almost perfect after autumn
